The Taiyuan municipal customs office, in Shanxi province, reports total imports and exports worth $2.16 billion in the first two months of 2013, for a year-on-year increase of 26.1 percent.

Exports of mechanical and electrical products hit $580 million, a 1.8-fold increase, while high-tech products were valued at $390 million, for a massive 8.5-fold rise. Total imported and exported manufactured goods hit $790 million dollars, or 1.1 times the last year figure.
