Hello tennis diehards in China! I am Lucie Safarova, the world No 34 player, from Czech Republic.

My name might not be as well known as those of the higher-ranking stars, so I am keen to let Chinese people know more about me.

I first played here in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics and I find this country to be radically different from Europe and extremely interesting. I managed to visit the Forbidden City and the Great Wall a couple of years ago and I was truly amazed by the magnificence of the ancient Chinese buildings and the culture.
